Peel Regional Police said Monday that in November, a 44-year-old woman answered her door to the supposed delivery man who was carrying a large box. In the video, the man appears to have stuck his right arm through a hole in the back of the box, with the other end pointed toward the woman. The two engaged in brief conversation before the suspect fired an arrow at the woman from a crossbow concealed inside the box.
Officers responding to a home on Bayberry Drive in Mississauga, Ontario, on November 7 found a 44-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to Peel Regional Police.
The victim was able to close the front door and call 911.
"There's absolutely no question in our mind that the intent in this particular case was that the victim was not to have survived this attack", Det. Sgt. Kettles did not reveal the substance of what the man said. "It involved damage to a lot of her internal organs, so she's going to be in a recovery phase for the rest of her life".
He added that her life "will never be the same".

Police are also trying to determine how many people may have been involved in planning the attack.
Kettles said police have a number of possible motives but are continuing to explore all possibilities. "I can't speak to those at this point in time". "We're looking at all possible investigative avenues as to why this attack may have been carried out".
Police have released video and photographs of the suspect hoping someone in the community can help identify him.
"His face does not appear to be covered", Kettles said. He wore a head covering under a white cap, though Kettles stopped short of saying whether they thought it was an effort to keep DNA evidence from the scene.
Investigators say they believe this was a premeditated, targeted, and isolated attack based on the conversation that occurred between the victim and the suspect.
