McDaniels won't pursue remaining HC jobs: 'The book is closed'

The Arizona Cardinals have had former Texas Tech head coach and USC offensive coordinator on their radar as a candidate to replace Steve Wilks as head coach.

"The book is closed", as McDaniels said, per Henry McKenna of Patriots Wire. He only received two interview requests this offseason from the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who most recently was USC's offensive coordinator, is expected to be interviewed by the Jets as well.

The Arizona Cardinals are the team scheduled to chat with Kingsbury today, and they're not the only team with a head coach opening hoping to score some time with him.

On Monday night, the Green Bay Packers offered Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur a job as the 16th head coach in franchise history. Kingsbury was hired less than a month later by USC to become its next offensive coordinator. That was great, but I am completely focused on the Chargers and our season and finishing strong.

Both the teams put up great rebounding displays to make sure that they get an edge over the other. "I can get killed pretty easy". Minnesota also dismissed assistant coach Andy Greer, who had a close association with Thibodeau, sources said.

Rhule is coming off his second year as head coach of the Bears. As polarizing as he can be as a play-caller, McDaniels still has a great relationship with Tom Brady and it's hard to envision anyone doing that much better of a job than he will do with the offense moving forward.

"He called and said he had bad news for me", Ballard said on the Tuesday after New England's Super Bowl loss. Are you in or out?' We went around for a minute and he said he's out and I said.

"I think he'd be a great National Football League coach", Mahomes, now quarterback for the Chiefs, said during his press conference Tuesday. McDaniels was previously head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-10.

Kingsbury, 39, spent the last six seasons as the head coach of Texas Tech, his alma mater. He returned to New England in 2012, where he'll apparently remain for the foreseeable future.

McDaniels was convinced to stay by Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, though reportedly no assurances were given that McDaniels would succeed Belichick when he retired.
