Aston Martin has revealed the name of its new SUV model, scheduled for launch next year, as prototypes of the soft-roader begin testing in Wales. The very sporty utility vehicle will be called the DBX when it goes on sale in about a year. Cues like the sculpted bonnet, slim headlamps and trademark Aston Martin grille are derived from the concept.

Aston notes that the DBX required a new test program, which makes sense, and that it "will perform with the verve and poise of a true Aston Martin", but also "will extend into areas previously off-limits to the marque's sporting roots".

Nevertheless, Aston Martin has now thrown an official spy video at us, one that shows the DBX throwing some land around on the gravel stages of the Wales Rally GB.

The DBX is set to ride on an Aston Martin platform. "Naturally this includes impressive multi-terrain and towing capabilities as befits a state-of-the-art SUV", today's release continues.

Diddy's Ex-Girlfriend, Kim Porter, Is Dead At 47
"I ask that you give the families privacy at this time", Sean "Diddy" Combs' rep Cindi Berger confirmed to TMZ on Thursday. They have three children - Jessie James and D'Lila, who were born in 2006, and their son Christian , who was born in 1998.

The company also gave the public its first look at an Aston Martin DBX prototype.

"As an engineer, it's genuinely exciting to get a feel for the auto you're working to create". Unlike the concept, the production DBX will feature a more conventional five-door layout rather than the sleeker three-door design that was originally expected.

Upon its arrival in the worldwide market prior to end 2019, the Aston Martin DBX will compete with the likes of the Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Lamborghini Urus and the upcoming Ferrari SUV.

Aston Martin Lagonda president and chief executive officer Andy Palmer said: "Seeing a DBX development prototype in action is a momentous chapter in the story of our first SUV, for it is the moment it really comes alive". And if high-selling DBX SUV models (like the Porsche Cayenne) allow for more Valkyries, DBSs and Vantages (and Porsche 911s), then more power to them.
