Newswatch: Dez Bryant signs with Saints

A person familiar with the situation says free-agent Dez Bryant and the Saints have agreed on contract terms that will add the former Dallas Cowboys star to one of the NFL's top offenses in New Orleans.

Ben Maller thinks that signing Bryant is a no-brainer for the Saints as they would automatically get another dynamic playmaker along side Michael Thomas & Alvin Kamara.

New Orleans will also work out two other wideouts with Bryant.

The Saints win over previously unbeaten LA has solidified them as a threat to make the Super Bowl. There will be no blaming struggles on the quarterback with Drew Brees throwing the ball.

Marshall was recently released by the Seattle Seahawks after a short stint with the team and like Bryant has been looking for another opportunity in the NFL. After that there is a serious drop off and the receiving corps could use an upgrade on the outside so it is understandable why the team would be pursuing Bryant and Marshall. Last season, the three-time Pro Bowler notched 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

Bryant was released by the Dallas Cowboys in April and has visited multiple teams, including the Cleveland Browns in August, but has yet to sign. Tight end Benjamin Watson has 26 catches, speed receiver Ted Ginn has 12, as does rookie receiver Tre'Quan Smith (who also has a ton of potential).
