Moving beyond rote denials, Harvey Weinstein is playing a leading role in shaping what his lawyer said Monday will be an aggressive defense to sexual assault charges that could put him in prison for the rest of his life.

In all, Weinstein now faces six felony charges relating to three women: two counts of predatory sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual act in the first degree, and one count each of first-degree rape and third-degree rape.

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to three new sexual assault charges in a New York Court.

Pale and pasty faced, the 66-year-old former Tinseltown titan was escorted by elbow into a NY courtroom in handcuffs, dressed in a dark suit, tie and white shirt.

Weinstein's Lawyer Ben Brafman has said he expects his client to be "fully vindicated" and has dismissed the predator charge as "simply not justified".

NY state Supreme Court Justice James Burke rejected a request by prosecutors to order house arrest for Weinstein, allowing him to remain free on the $1 million bail that has been in effect following his May not guilty plea on charges that he assaulted two other women, one in 2004 and one in 2013.

Overall, almost 100 women have come forward publicly to say they were harassed or sexually abused by Weinstein over a period of more than two decades.

"His objective is to clear his name, get help with the problems he has faced and hopefully go back to making movies", said Brafman.

More than 75 women have accused Weinstein of wrongdoing as allegations detailed in Pulitzer Prize-winning stories last October in The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine swelled into the #MeToo movement.

Une cellule psychologique a été mise en place par le personnel de l'hôpital pour épauler les proches des victimes. Il s'agissait d'une fillette de 9 ans, et de deux garçons âgés de 10 et 13 ans.

Courthouse guards told people arriving for jury duty to wait or use a different entrance as Mr Weinstein arrived on Monday.

The other, former actress Lucia Evans, says she was allegedly forced to perform a sex act at his office in 2004.

Since then, more than 40 women, including actresses Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

Film actress Rose McGowan, who alleged Weinstein raped her in 1997 in Utah.

A former Weinstein Company production assistant, Mimi Haleyi, last October made allegations against Weinstein that align with the charges in the updated indictment. Neither the district attorney's office nor Haleyi's attorney, Gloria Allred, would confirm that Haleyi is the accuser in the new charges.

One of the other two accusers, who has not been identified publicly, told investigators Weinstein allegedly cornered her in a hotel room and raped her in 2013.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex, with his attorney challenging the credibility of his accusers.

"If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice", he said. Dozens of women have come forward in recent months to accuse the producer of assaulting or harassing them.
