Before she returned a man jumped into her vehicle and tried to drive away, but the woman saw what was happening and jumped in the back seat. He would not get out of the auto. "He turned around and looked at me", she told the local media. The mother quickly got back in the vehicle, grabbed a gun from her glove box and shot the would-be carjacker in the face, according to news reports.
"I wasn't necessarily anxious about my auto", Booker-Hicks said.
Wright, who has a long history of violent crimes, is charged with two counts of unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Booker-Hicks' two young children were in the back seat of the auto during the frightening ordeal, causing her to quickly jump into action. He was in stable but serious condition Thursday morning, CBS 11 reported, while the mother and two children were unharmed. Two toddlers were inside the SUV. 'I was more anxious about my kids'.
