James will be signing a four-year, $154 million contract with Los Angeles. James, had he chose to stay, could have inked a five-year, $207 million deal with the Cavs.

Despite Paul George not filling in as the team's second max-contract slot due to his decision to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers have options with James committing to a long-term deal.

When James previously signed as a free agent with the Miami Heat, he joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Both to form a superstar trio, likewise, Kevin Love joined James in his return to the Cavaliers.

Magic had said before free agency began that he would step down if the Lakers could not land a star within the next two years.

Multiple reports suggest that after signing James, the Lakers are also eyeing a trade with the San Antonio Spurs for All-Star forward Kawahi Leonard.

The Los Angeles Lakers won a grand total of 35 games last season in the NBA's always-tough Western Conference, but guess who just became one of the oddsmakers' favorites to win it all next season? McGee proved in Golden State he could be a serviceable backup big, and even start in spot moments.

The team didn't wait long to announce their next move.

He rejoined the Cavs in 2014, winning another championship in 2016. We wish his kids, his wife Savannah, his mother Gloria, and LeBron himself nothing but the best in the years and decades ahead. At 33 years old, James produced a sensational 2017-18 campaign in which he averaged 27.5 points, 9.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds on 54.2 percent shooting from the field, including 36.7 percent from three, in a league-high 36.9 minutes per game.

Many have already wondered what the NBA Finals might look like without James taking on the Warriors every year.

Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman spoke to both James and Paul on the phone when National Basketball Association free agency officially opened at 12:01 a.m. ET Sunday, sources told ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

That year, his iconic block on Andre Iguodala was one of the defining moments of the Cavs' Game 7 win over the Warriors.
