Sunrisers Hyderabad will have to face Delhi Daredevils in the game tonight which does not look like a very hard task for the former.

Delhi Daredevils bowling coach James Hopes was a frustrated man after his team became the first to be knocked out of this Indian Premier League season, failing to defend 187 runs at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.

Pant's jaw-dropping unbeaten 128 off just 63 balls nearly single-handedly took the hosts to 187/5 in 20 overs, but the two experienced SRH batsmen ensured that the chase was aced with relative ease.

Delhi chose to put scoreboard pressure on the opposition by deciding to bat but things did not go according to plan in the powerplay. Dhawan smashed nine four and four sixes whereas Williamson hit eight boundaries and two over the line during his stint at the crease.

Earlier batting first Delhi Daredevils's team lost 5 wickets for 187 runs and set a target of 188 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their stipulated 20 overs.

IPL 2018: Ganguly lauds Pant, says he will soon play for India

Delhi stay rock bottom of the IPL table after an eighth loss in 11, while Sunrisers' ninth win in 11 moves them four points clear of the Chennai Super Kings in second, though having played a game more.

The magnificent performance by the duo completely demoralised Delhi Daredevils and SRH would be pretty happy with their batsmen finally coming to the party. It has indeed been a disappointing season for them despite possessing young talent like Pant, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw. Such was the class of his innings that he took one of India's best bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the cleaners in the last over, scoring 26 off him to take Delhi to an extremely good score. Brendon McCullum's contribution of 71.17% - he scored 158 in Kolkata Knight Riders' 222 for 3 - against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural IPL match is the highest percentage of runs by a batsman in a completed IPL innings.

Alex Hales (14) was the lone wicket the visitors lost when they came out to chase at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

"We had some great and experienced bowlers in our team - there's Bhuvneshwar (Kumar), Rashid Khan, Siddharht Kaul, who have been putting excellent deliveries throughout the tournament". He reached his century in 56 balls.

Kane Williamson whips away a shot to the legside during the IPL. Even against Sunrisers, he was excellent as he scored 65 runs in 39 deliveries.
